What does Conversion mean? <\/strong>\u00a0This is the name given to a psychiatric table that imitates any neurological disorder.\u00a0 It is always triggered by a\u00a0stress<\/strong>\u00a0.<\/p>\n But what was our patient\u2019s condition?\u00a0 As a matter of fact, there was a serious\u00a0stressor<\/strong>\u00a0at the beginning of the disorder.\u00a0 She had considerable debts.\u00a0 On the other hand, a significant amount of money they were supposed to receive was not paid in time.\u00a0 Thus, they were in debt and could face enforcement any time.\u00a0 During those days, she suddenly started to show altered mental status.\u00a0 Yet, most of the time, she was behaving normally.<\/p>\n While listening closely, the patient was pissing herself, biting her tongue and showing other epileptic characteristics.\u00a0 Her attitudes and behaviors were already like a boxer in shock after getting punched.<\/p>\n Before long, an ordinary\u00a0EEG<\/strong>\u00a0would reveal everything. The patient was producing a constant electrical discharge<\/strong>\u00a0from the back of her head.<\/p>\n The name of the picture was \u201cnon-epileptic status<\/strong>\u201d .<\/p>\n A\u00a0neurological consultation<\/strong>\u00a0was requested immediately.\u00a0 As two physicians, we confirmed the diagnosis.\u00a0 The\u00a0EEG<\/strong>\u00a0got better in minutes through the use of a benzodiazepine-like drug, and clinical recovery started within a couple of hours.<\/p>\n The underlying reason, or\u00a0etiology<\/strong>, is still being researched.<\/p>\n In short, this phenomenon shows:<\/p>\n First; the patient must always be listened to with great care and away from all kinds of prejudice.\u00a0 What caused a prejudice here is the company of a\u00a0stress factor<\/strong>.
